The cost of the shortcut

Your client paid. Your account froze.

Borrowed identities, mismatched addresses, and unverifiable business details can turn a good month into a support ticket.

  • Keep control
Build around business details you can actually document.
  • Answer verification clearly
Know what each form asks and why.
  • Plan beyond the EIN
Entity, bank, owner, website, and processor details must make sense together.

What an EIN really is

One number is not the whole setup.

An EIN is a US federal tax identification number. It can be an important layer, but payment providers make their own eligibility and verification decisions.

Honest promise: we can guide and prepare your application. We cannot guarantee an IRS processing date or a Stripe approval.

Your EIN confirmation

Where does the EIN number appear?

The IRS’s current digital CP575 confirms the entity’s Employer Identification Number. The number uses a nine-digit format such as 12-3456789.

Ask the awkward questions in the language that makes them easiest.

Status guidance

How it works

One small box can hold the whole file.

The process is not hard because the form is long. It is hard because one unchecked detail can conflict with everything after it.

Clear answers

The questions worth asking first.

Can a Sri Lankan apply for an EIN?

International applicants can use the IRS’s international application routes when eligible. Your entity and responsible-party details still need to be accurate.

Will an EIN guarantee a Stripe account?

No. Stripe decides account eligibility and verification separately. An EIN is a tax ID; it is not proof of approval and it does not replace entity, owner, bank, website, or business checks.

Do I need a US SSN?

Not every international EIN case requires an SSN, but the responsible-party rules and the correct SS-4 fields matter. We review the facts of your application rather than promise one answer for everyone.

How long does the IRS take?

Processing depends on the application channel and IRS workload. We show an estimate after reviewing your case, but we do not advertise a guaranteed date.

Is the EIN itself free?

Yes. The IRS does not charge to issue an EIN. The ein.lk price is for preparation, guidance, and support.
